Medical Terminology A is an introductory course
intended to help students find employment, or
advance in their existing jobs in the healthcare
industry. We begin by introducing
important word parts (prefixes, roots, and
suffixes) that are essential to
understanding medical language. To make the
terms easier to understand and to remember, the
instructor explains, by examples, the specific
workplace situations where these terms are used.
This the first half of a two-semester course.
We also begin learning the specific medical
terminology related to systems of the body here.
This class is valuable for those who plan to
pursue jobs in medical offices as medical
transcriptionists, medical coders and billers,
or any other employment in health care. Medical Terminology (Part B)Medical Terminology B begins with a review of the word elements learned in Medical Terminology A. It is intended to help students find employment, or advance in their existing jobs in the healthcare field. This is the second half of a two-semester course. Using actual examples from the medical field you will build your medical vocabulary by learning more of the body systems. Instructor: R. Danelle
