Information on this course focuses on medical coding practices and medical insurance procedures. Course topics include; legal issues, basic insurance literacy, diagnostic coding, procedural coding, insurance claim forms, healthcare plans, worker’s compensation disability benefits, hospital billing, confidentiality and seeking employment as a medical coding specialist. Taught by a certified specialist currently working in the field, this course will provide the most up-to-date billing and coding practices in the state of Maine. Also, for those seeking certification, this course provides the preparation you will need for the exam.
